About the Journal
Overview
The International Journal of Science and Technology for Sustainability (IJSTS) is an international, premier, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed Open Access journal. IJSTS is officially published by the Institute of Innovations, a registered UDYAM organization under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. The Institute of Innovations operates under the aegis of the Societal Education and Empowerment Trust.
IJSTS was established to serve as a universal, boundary-free repository for groundbreaking advancements across all branches of physical, chemical, engineering, computational, and life sciences. The singular, defining prerequisite for publication in IJSTS is that the work must contribute directly or indirectly to solving ecological challenges, accelerating green technological deployment, or reinforcing global sustainability frameworks.
Aims:
International Journal of Science and Technology for Sustainability (IJSTS) is a premier, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The journal serves as a universal platform for the publication of advancements across all fields of science, engineering, and technology, provided the work contributes directly or indirectly to environmental, economic, or societal sustainability.
Our mission is to break down traditional academic silos and foster the cross-disciplinary dialogue required to address global challenges. To ensure measurable global impact, IJSTS explicitly aligns its editorial vision with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing a high-velocity platform for research that drives meaningful, sustainable progress.
Our Core Philosophy and Mission
In an increasingly specialized academic landscape, the critical bottlenecks to global sustainability cannot be solved within isolated research silos. True innovation thrives at the intersection of disciplines—where artificial intelligence optimizes renewable power grids, nanotechnology revolutionizes wastewater treatment, and bioprocess engineering shapes circular economic loops.
IJSTS acts as a global catalyst for this convergent knowledge. By offering an unrestricted, high-velocity publishing platform, we aim to bridge the gap between fundamental laboratory discoveries and scalable, real-world technological applications. To ensure a measurable global impact, our editorial vision and curation parameters are explicitly mapped against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Publication Frequency and Workflow Velocity
To maintain a continuous stream of cutting-edge research, IJSTS is published Quarterly (4 issues per year). Recognizing the importance of rapid dissemination in sustainability science, the journal utilizes an Online First publication model. Once a manuscript has successfully completed our rigorous peer-review and copyediting pipeline, it is immediately typeset and published online with a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring immediate global visibility and citation potential ahead of the compiled quarterly issue.
Open Access Model and Curation Commitment
Driven by the robust infrastructure of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, IJSTS adheres to the highest standards of publishing ethics, technical quality, and equity:
- Gold Open Access with Initial Fee Waivers: IJSTS operates on a Gold Open Access model, ensuring all published literature is immediately and permanently free for global readers. To celebrate our launch and support global research equity, all Article Processing Charges (APCs) are completely waived during the first year of launch. Submissions accepted during this inaugural period will face zero publication fees.
- Double-Blind Peer Review: To safeguard complete impartiality, all submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind evaluation by at least two independent domain experts.
Plagiarism Prevention: Operating with an absolute commitment to academic integrity, all manuscripts are screened dynamically via cross-reference similarity checking tools (iThenticate) upon receipt.
